The Family of Tsepo Tshola affectionately known as “The Village Pope” has announced his untimely passing after battling with a Covid-19 related illness.

He was a sensation and main act that made the Lesotho Tourism Festival ‘LETOFE’ one of the “must be at” events in Lesotho and attracted tourists to the event.

His passing has left the music industry at a huge loss as he was seen as an icon whose music has been therapy for those going through hard times while also many of his songs brought parties, weddings, festivals to life.

His followers have poured out their heartfelt condolences across social media platforms following the release of a family obituary notice after his passing.

The Village Pope Lesotho born is said to be one of the greatest artist and songwriter that has ever come out of the country.

He has been honoured as an icon by the South African music industry and has also been conferred the highest honour by His Majesty King Letsie III. He was conferred by the King with the esteemed Order of Ramatseatsana for his distinguished leadership and exceptional service to society.
