The former Government Secretary Lebohang Ramohlanka ascended to the National Assembly Deputy Speaker position after removal of Teboho Lehloenya this week.
Ramohlanka won 61 votes against the All Basotho Convention legislator, Nyapane Kaya’s 48 votes.
Ramohlanka accepted the new mandate promising to expedite the national reforms by endorsing laws for the benefit of all Basotho irrespective of their political divide.
Ramohlanka was Lesotho’s High Commissioner to United Kingdom from 2000 to 2005 and was later in 2005 appointed Mafeteng District Administrator until 2007.
In 2007 she was appointed National Assembly clerk until she left in 2012 when she started voluntary work to the Lesotho Evangelical Church in Southern Africa (LECSA).
