Finance Ministry has announced in a notice to the elderly that their delayed pensions will be paid in full after they went without receipt of their monies from march 2021.
The notice by the Ministry announced that persons aged 70 and above and their proxies receiving pensions from the pension’s unit monthly that their late payments dated from March 2021 are being processed and they will be paid through a new form of paying pensions.
The migration from an old system of payments processing, it has been discovered requires system reconfiguration in order to be executed correctly.
Furthermore, the ministry suggested that it is in a process of inserting money inside the envelopes that are well secured with staplers in order to protect the money from theft or reduction at the time the elderly people receive it at the pay stations across the country.
For so doing, the ministry will make a new announcement immediately about where the payments would be made to the pensions’ recipients.
There are centres that are provided for help in every district including Roma and Semonkong where the preparation will be made for the delayed payments that are now set to be paid.
The ministry said the elderly are urged to recall to bring along their identity cards (IDs) with them to the centres where their payment will take place.
The statement said for those who have already received their payments and are also 70-years-old, will not leave the centre without receiving at least, a one-month payment.
But if the name does not appear inside the system, the ministry said it will make a photocopy of a recipient’s ID and then issue them their monthly payment.
The ministry said it anticipates that next month operation to move faster in order for the elderly to go straight where they have registered for their payment.
