Chinese Enterprise Lesotho donated coronavirus personal protective equipment to the Ministry of Health, yesterday.

The donation of 1100 pairs of gloves, 50 eye protectors, 8000 surgical masks, and 168 bottles of sanitizers come in a time when COVID-19 prevalence in the country has risen from zero to 256 since mid-May.

The Principal Secretary of Ministry of Health Lesimole Moletsane thanked the association for donating useful equipment in the fight of coronavirus.

She said all the 270 health facilities in the country are in serious need of PPE and other medical equipment in order to appropriately contain the spread of coronavirus.

“The donations will, therefore, be distributed immediately,” she said.

On behalf of the association of Chinese enterprise Lesotho, Guoliang Ma said the batch of donations is a friendly gesture between Lesotho’s government and association of Chinese enterprise Lesotho.

Ma also said the donation was just the first donation from the association to the government and assured the ministry that there will be more donations to Lesotho government in the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.
