Ministry of transport has stopped issuing new number plates bearing the country coat of arms used by His Majesty the King and will return to using the Mokorotlo symbol.

This comes after the decision that was made by the cabinet following the dissatisfaction of King Letsie III on the usage of the coat of arms on all vehicles issued new number plates.

Now, the ministry has stopped issuing number plates in order to prepare for the switch back to the use of the Mokorotlo symbol.

However, the Ministry said those that still have the permits of the number plates and those that their number plates are scratched, must come at traffic to get their number plates.
